The chasuble of Thomas Becket, which Thomas gave as a gift to his friend Presbitero when Presbitero was named bishop of Fermo. Presbitero gave the garment to the city of Fermo, where it was kept in a box for 700 years, explaining its remarkable condition. In the 1920s, it was removed (carefully) and scholars traced its origins to Moorish Spain. The garment's inscription included the date it was made, which corresponds to the Christian year 1116.
